The Uruguayan international joined United three years ago after he signed from Penarol in 2020 in a £9million deal but he only made his first-team debut in January, during the EFL Cup victory over Charlton. He has gained more first-team minutes under Erik ten Hag this calendar year.
Pellistri has found regular first-team minutes hard to come by due to the prominence of Antony in United’s squad, while the return of Amad from a loan spell at Sunderland may limit his opportunities further. However, the club do see a long-term future for the player in the squad. A report in the Telegraph has outlined solid interest from newly-promoted Sheffield United, who are desperate to bolster their ranks ahead of the close of the transfer window. The Blades have lost their opening two games of the campaign.
