New boy Jack Young says Ayr United's long term pursuit can pay off after making his loan move to Somerset Park. The former Newcastle kid has sealed a switch north of the border today to help shore up Lee Bullen's midfield.
He told the Ayrshire Post: "I'm aware the club have been tracking me for a while and it's nice to feel wanted wherever you go. The minute I spoke to the gaffer and Graeme they made it clear how big a part I could play here and that has to be my focus now. I just want to come in and be the best version of myself for these next few months and take it from there.
Young's footballing education was spent with his boyhood heroes at St James' Park, where he came through the system from the age of eight until leaving at 21. Spells at Tranmere and then Wycombe have then followed with the player looking to establish himself in the English lower leagues.
