Those who claim benefits from the DWP, including Universal Credit will be aware that payment dates can often get moved around due to bank holidays. It's particularly important to try and keep on top of when you're expecting the money to land in your account to help plan your budget, reports the Liverpool Echo.
DWP benefits and pension payments usually land in banks, building societies or credit union accounts, on a regular basis such as once a month, every four weeks, or fortnightly, depending on which benefit you claim.But as bank holidays - such as Monday, August 28 - are classed as non-working days, if your payment is due then it will usually be paid earlier. In September, however, there are no bank holidays so you should receive your cash as usual.
The day your pension is paid depends on the last two digits of your National Insurance number, as follows: Most people who are eligible can expect a further £300 payment in autumn 2023, and while no exact date has yet been given this could be as early as September.
