Former Newcastle and England striker Alan Shearer insists it is 'no surprise' to see Manchester City among a number of sides monitoring Evan Ferguson.
Brighton held firm on interest in their striker over the summer and Ferguson has made no secret of his desire to stay and develop at the AMEX. But the league's top sides are beginning to circle and Shearer can see why City are among them. Part of Ferguson's allure at Brighton is that he represents a dying breed of out-and-out No.9. The teenager is more than capable of linking play but his sole focus is on goals, to the point that De Zerbi admitted he can become 'the top scorer in Europe' this season.
"I love how he can bully defenders," Shearer added of Ferguson. "I love his positioning, I love how he’s always asking different questions of the centre-half, either going up against him or, as he did against Newcastle, dropping in short, getting the ball to feet and turning.
