ADVERTISEMENT CONTINUE READING BELOW FIFI PETERS: The Airports Company of South Africa, Acsa, came out with its annual financial results today for the year to March 2023, and the numbers are looking a lot more positive. Revenue up 55% to R6 billion this time around. And although the Airports Company of South Africa reported a loss, the loss it reported this time around was a lot smaller than what happened this time last year.

We have recovered about 50% compared to last year. We have recorded a 50% better performance compared to last year in terms of departing passengers, and that number compared to pre-pandemic levels is a 76% recovery on passengers. LINDANI MUKHUDWANI: In the year under review we’ve seen recovery in all these categories of our business. In terms of our revenue generation for this year we recorded a total of R6 billion in terms of total revenue, and that was made up of R2.

On the capex, in terms of refurbishing assets as well across our network, we’ve spent about R422 million. Yes, it’s a work in progress in terms of then refurbishing all our assets. But we are hard at work at all the airports at the moment. FIFI PETERS: The loss reported this time last year was at R1 billion. You’ve reduced that now to R143 million. How far are you from turning the corner and making a profit, and what gets you there?
