Why don't all retailers accept Visa, American Express, Discover, Mastercard credit cards?

It comes down to customer service. If Kroger won't accept Visa (next it will be MC's) are they going to issue check cashing cards like they did in the 80s or will they make everyone carry cash. Kroger is going backwards in tech .

It all comes down to a class-based scam. If digital technology enables nearly the complete automation of payment systems, why is there a need for credit cards in the first place? Credit should feed an individual's credit pool and that should be attached to a single form of pay.
