Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, said the ethnic dance of the Chinese community is unique and the involvement of the Bumiputera community is evidence of the spirit of unity and mutual cultural enrichment.“In Sabah, it is not only those who are Chinese who are involved in this cultural dance, but other ethnic groups also participate.
According to Nizam, the uniqueness of the dragon and lion dance is the togetherness of the dancers to move according to their respective steps, with the same goal, to make the dance performance successful.“This dance is not easy but seems complicated to master and learn. In the lion and dragon dance there are lively movements unique to individual dancers, accompanied by music that brings soul and spirit to the performance of the dance itself.
“The important thing is that the foundation of this organisation is to bring together all the ethnic groups in strengthening their respective cultures and getting to know others at the same time.
