The company said it is reaching out to "potentially impacted customers" and automatically applying a credit of $5, the estimated average cost of a full day of service, to their accounts. Users on X were quick to criticize the amount, with one user saying, "A single $5 credit per account with multiple phones is an insult. You failed here @ATTNEWS."

What the h*ll is this?" During the outage, some iPhone users saw SOS messages displayed in the status bar on their cellphones. The message indicates that the device is having trouble connecting to their cellular provider’s network, but it can make emergency calls through other carrier networks, according to Apple Support.AT&T said the outage was most likely caused by the "application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network, not a cyber attack.
