West Ham United boss David Moyes is backing himself to get the 'Leeds United version' of Kalvin Phillips firing for the Hammers. England midfielder Phillips has endured a difficult start to his loan spell from Manchester City.
"He doesn't need to improve, he just needed game time," said Moyes. "The sending-off set him back a bit just as he was getting up and running. Phillips came on as a late substitute as West Ham slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Freiburg in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash. The 28-year-old is likely to be back in the starting line-up for Sunday's visit of struggling Burnley. The Hammers' next three matches are at home to the Clarets, Freiburg in the second leg and Aston Villa.
