Police have launched a manhunt for a group of masked intruders who stormed the property in south-western Sydney overnight.

A group of masked men who stormed a home in Sydney's south-west brandishing a firearm were trying to collect a personal debt of $10,000, according to police.

Officers were called to a property on Ravenswood Street at Canley Vale about 11pm yesterday where they were told several men had forced entry.READ MORE:Police have launched a manhunt for a gang of men after a home invasion in Sydney's south-west overnight. No one was injured as a result of the firearm, however, a 42-year-old was taken to hospital for a head injury.

Police today have launched a manhunt for the home invaders who fled the scene in a black Audi Q5 SUV with $10,000 cash."We believe it's a targeted attack not involving other members of the public," he said."Anyone with footage around that time and around that vicinity may be beneficial to us," he said.

"It may not seem much to those who have the footage but it may be something we can piece together to get some more information about this matter."
