The latest statistics from the Department for Work and Pensions shows that at the end of October 2023 there were 6.2 million people claiming Universal Credit. That figure includes 2.3m people in employment and claiming the income-related benefit.
The new Universal Credit payment rates are still showing as being in the 'proposed' state on GOV.UK, however, the social Security Uprating Bill has already passed through the House of Lords and is unlikely to change now as annual uprating letters have been issued to claimants.
