Easter payment dates for benefit claimants have been confirmed by the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs .
For those who claim Universal Credit, tax credits and other benefits, knowing the dates of these payments can help you to plan and budget accordingly. As Good Friday falls on March 29, Holy Saturday on March 30, Easter Sunday on March 31, and Easter Monday on April 1, dates will be changed. Any payments due on those days will instead so the money in their bank accounts on Thursday, March 28. The change will mainly affect those in receipt of Universal Credit, as payments are usually tied to a specific date each month, as well as State Pension recipients who receive their money on a Friday.From next month, benefits payment rates will increase by 6.7 per cent and the State Pension will rise by 8.5 per cent, Kent Live reports.
