The final chapter of Jamie and Claire Fraser's epic love story is being written as Season 8 of the long-running Starz series Outlander is now in production. A behind-the-scenes short shared today confirmed that cameras are rolling on the final season, with the pair of stars walking through the history of the show together before they jump in front of the camera for the last time.
Outlander began airing back in 2014 and opened in WWII-era Scotland with the medic Claire who is transported back in time to 1743 where she meets her highland warrior soulmate, Jamie. Together, the couple's love has endured through pivotal events in history, from the Jacobite rising to the American Revolution, only growing closer through each adventure they face.
Following some uncertainty with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year and other minor delays, things appear to be full-speed for the Outlander team as they likely aim for a 2025 release date for the final season. It's unclear at this time exactly who will be aboard for the final run, but Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, Charles Vandervaart, and John Bell are all likely to reprise their roles based on the content of the books.
