Police and family members have renewed their push for information into the 2005 disappearance of Katie O'Shea from Far North Queensland.Melbourne woman Lily Parmenter is pleading for someone "to get some backbone" and give details into her mother's 2005 disappearance as Queensland police announce a $500,000 reward for information.
"Detectives believe Ms O'Shea's disappearance was suspicious and that there are people who know what happened," Detective Senior Sergeant Devine said.Ms O'Shea was born in Melbourne and lived at Millaa Millaa, about 100 kilometres south-west of Cairns, in the mid-1980s before returning to Melbourne in the late 1990s.
Police told the inquest that Mr O'Shea — who did not participate in the inquest — said his mother was going to stay with friend Debra Gifford for a few days in Mareeba.
