PETALING JAYA: AMMB Holdings Bhd (AmBank) is likely to post notable quarter-on-quarter earnings growth next quarter, backed mainly by lower net credit costs, said Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB).

“Besides, the potential adoption of foundation internal rating-based in the financial year 2025 could create headroom for a larger dividend payout in the future,” it said. Earlier this month, ANZ agreed to sell 16.5% of the issued capital in AmBank via a block trade at a price of RM3.85 per share.ANZ said the sale would reduce its shareholding in AmBank from 21.7% to 5.2%, in line with ANZ’s strategy of simplifying the bank.
