Mboweni said Sanral’s board should not have taken the decision as it has significant financial implications.

PRETORIA - Finance Minister Tito Mboweni has hit out at Sanral for its decision not to pursue those defaulting on e-toll payments.

Sanral announced on Wednesday that it suspended the process of pursuing historic e-toll debt, including summonses dating back to 2015.

On serious note I don't believe what Mboweni said. Sanral must scrap etolls as these affecting selective motorists. ANC must be blamed by promoting these etolls on lives of poor motorists. It's time up elections are around the corner now he is canvassing for votes. Tactics

Told you petrol price would go up!

Eish there goes you bonus for 2019

Of course he is unhappy. The corrupt ANC leadership is now unable to collect some more money for their kitty of distribution

You are probably one who hasn’t paid either all talk no action.

This guy should not come back as anything in government...

'I am very unhappy ' this is not about you Minister 😲😲😲

I now understand why David mabuza does not take him serious.

tito_mboweni Deal with fruitless & wasteful expenditure in many state entites & use that money to pay the etoll’s debt to the Australian firms owed, not tax payers money who are already paying high taxes. SA is already one of the very high tax regimes in the world.

tito_mboweni sir, SANRAL_za never consulted users initially when it implemented the etolls. You can’t have it your way on every policy decision. The whole etoll indirect tax is flawed and SA’s can’t afford it.

I think Mboweni has shares on these e-tolls. Killing it is killing his income.

Hee vhanna... MBOWENI MARA....

That's why the deputy president doesn't take him serious, he doesn't care about the people of gauteng and such behaviour will lead them to loose gauteng come 8 may..

All that is going to happen now is that petrol price will go up... One way or another this government will take every cent from the citizens. They don't care about how the people suffer. Thier tanks and bellies are full of our money. Pay political minimum wage to see change.

Is he not going against what the president agreed to

tito_mboweni why are u forcing us to pay? We as motorists did not ask for this toll roads

Do ministers pay etoll out of their own pocket? Easy to say that the public must pay when government officials get it all for free

We never say we want E-tolls Minister

We never say we want E-tolls Minister.

Suck it in minister. Your comments show just how out of touch you are with the ordinary people out there. We struggle to make ends meet day after day while you fat cats live off our misspent taxes. Go back to farming.

I'm glad he said this as it demonstrates honesty. It just proves the point that the decision was entirely influenced by the ANC in order not to loose the Gauteng vote. Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool

He boeda we didnt ask for those fucking etolls.. Reverse what.. Sanral doesnt have a reverse gear.. Lol

Voetsek Satan....

With respect, this guy is looking like foolish.

ANC governance is a joke indeed.

The ass and the elbow know f all about each other!

Fuck off maan!

Gauteng's road-users who buy lots of fuel (which includes a sizeable chunk for road infrastructure) are even more unhappy about your and the MYANC 's unfortunate approach tito_mboweni . Luckily 8 May is around the corner so that we can use our 'dirty' votes for real change!

Wa penga tatane

My condolences - I hope this didn't ruin your dinner party

Eskom is a bad decision

I am very unhappy, this will affect the flow of gravy into my trough...

news24 so you can be sure of one thing. A vote for the ANC on 8th May is a vote for etolls on the GFIP. If you then do vote for etolls then you have no right to complain afterwards. That was your choice.

Umboweni udakiwe

Uyiflopp tito_mboweni

Tito and Pravin are presidents of Mzansi, that's why Zuma fired Pravin because it's his way or highway.

Sanral undoubtedly will - after the election.
