James Sheridan was targeted at his home last year over an unpaid six-figure debt. He also had two fingers amputated, as did his partner, who was hacked at as she tried to phone the police.

Sheridan later taunted the gang on social media. Sheriff Derek Livingston imposed an interim driving ban and agreed to defer sentence on Sheridan, now of Glasgow, until May, but warned him: “Whatever your personal circumstances, custody is at the forefront of my mind.”
