Ianis Hagi is set for a permanent move away from Rangers, with Galatasaray reportedly on the verge of signing the midfielder.
The 25-year-old was brought to Ibrox by Steven Gerrard from Philippe Clement's former side Genk on an initial loan deal in January 2020, before sealing a permanent switch ahead of the following season. The Romania international netted eight times in 48 matches as Rangers clinched the Premiership title in 2021 but has since been ravaged with injuries, making 13 appearances in the last two years.
Hagi, who is contracted in Govan until 2026, joined La Liga side Alaves on a season-long loan last summer but has struggled for consistency registering just two goals and one assist in 24 matches for the mid-table club. And according to Turkish outlet Aksam, the playmaker has "completed" a move to Istanbul giants Galatasaray, where his legendary father Gheorghe enjoyed a trophy-laiden spell between 1996 and 2001, including a famous UEFA Cup triumph in 2000.
The Turkish-born player has scored five goals in 33 caps for Romania since making his debut in 2018 and will hope to make the cut in his country's squad for the EUROS next summer. Romania are in Group B alongside, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine and will fancy their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds.
Hagi isn't the only Rangers man to be linked with a move to the Super Lig, with midfielder John Lundstram touted for a summer switch to Trabzonspor. Full back Ridvan Yilmaz was also reportedly close to heading back to Turkey with Galatasaray in the January window.
