April 19 is the deadline to apply for a loan through the Small Business Administration. Local business and disaster recovery centers will also close that day.

Flood victims who are seeking financial support after their homes and businesses were damaged during the major January storm may be eligible for a loan from the Small Business Administration — but time is running out to apply. The Small Business Administration is a federal agency that provides support services and financial resources to businesses, but it also offers assistance to residents, such as the San Diegans who faced severe flooding on Jan.

Eligible applicants may find a link to the SBA’s website on their FEMA application, or they can go directly to sba.gov/disaster. To apply in person, borrowers have multiple options that are available only through April 19. They can visit the business recovery center at Southwestern College’s Higher Education Center , which is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
