Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has addressed the media prior to delivering Tuesday’s budget, saying its surplus is ‘no accident’.

Mr Frydenberg says the first surplus in more than a decade is the ‘result of responsible decisions, and an economic plan that is working’. The Treasurer notes while there is more to do to get debt under control and allow more spending on essential services, he believes ‘the Australian people can trust us to do it’.
