A seven-year-old boy has purchased a rare Coles stikeez 'Golden Banana' online for $10,000. His mum from Sydney is pleading for a refund. Ouch!

Kids are going bananas to find the special golden toy in the Coles Stikeez collection.Ms Jacob contacted the seller, described the situation and asked if they would reimburse her of the eye-watering figure.

“Between PayPal and the bank, there should be at least one stopper that says ‘hang on, this isn’t right’ … and no-one did,” Ms Jacob said. Like the golden ticket from Willy Wonka, shoppers have been going crazy for the rare collectibles of the Coles promotional campaign, with one given to shoppers who spend $30 in store. There’s Willow Watermelon, who loves summer, Penny Pear, who loves parties, Brodie Broccoli, who is “full of goodness”.

But scarcity creates demand, and recently a mum-of-five sold a golden Billy Banana on eBay for $20,100.A Coles spokesman told news.com.au earlier this month that it “certainly” did not encourage the selling of Stikeez. The spokesman added that it has been overwhelmed with the popularity of Coles Fresh Stikeez.

Apparently the kid has some type of disability. And has done this before. No excuses here the mother should have known better and taken precautions. I say pay the seller! itsnothisfault paytheman lessonlearned

If I touched my parents wallet as a kid, I wouldn’t sit down for a week. Teach children respect and cost of a dollar!

It’s not like a 7 year old would not know what he was doing. I can’t believe they’ve refunded her!!! Her own stupidity/irresponsibility that caused this - why should someone else pay for that Channel7 7NewsBrisbane

Blaming everyone else but the parent taking responsibility.

Only has herself to blame. Secure your accounts especially when it comes to anything financial.

Fair enough she should get her 10k back - but she does need to take the blame, it was her irresponsibility that caused it.

sucked in to that

😆😂🤣😆 🍌

🤣 that’s gold !

If it's paid by credit card surely she can ring the bank and block the transaction?

*Spoiler alert: She got one. Yawn

You can go to tge naughty corner for that.

Whoops!!!!!!!!!

When you don’t teach your kids NOT to do that, it’s on you. LOL 😂😂😂
