Snooker ace Robert Milkins has candidly shared his journey from battling alcohol issues and a £30,000 debt to seeking triumph at the World Snooker Championship.
However, Milkins, nearly a decade later, seemed to derail just before his Gibraltar Open victory. A few weeks after his boozy birthday celebrations in March 2022, he arrived at the first-ever Turkish Masters under the influence of alcohol. The incident in Turkey served as a wake-up call for Milkins, leading him to seek therapeutic help. Reflecting on the situation, he later said: "What happened in Turkey was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me - in a nasty way. I am not proud of what I did, but looking back at it, it was the best thing. I went and got counselling straight away, she was brilliant."
