A minimum of two Premier League clubs have reportedly enquired about signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United this summer.
Greenwood's future at Old Trafford has been a sensitive topic since he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in January 2022. In February last year, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that said charges had been dropped after key witnesses withdrew and new material came to light. Greenwood denied the allegations.
“I can talk about the principle, I’m not going to talk about Mason,” he said. “I’m familiar with it. The principle is the important one because we will have other issues going forward. You’re dealing with young people, they’ve not always been brought up in the best of circumstances, who are very talented, they’ve got lots of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.
Getafe stance Greenwood has proven to be a success at Getafe since joining the Spanish club in September, scoring ten goals and providing six assists in 32 appearances. “We’ll have to wait until the end of June … the people and the coach are very happy with him. I think he will remain with us for another season, or at least until January. He is a good footballer.”
