Nordic countries and many European countries don’t charge for university education and some only charge admin fees; this applies to overseas students too. I have three grandchildren at university. They have huge HECS fees which worries 18-year-olds. They won’t be able to own their own businesses or homes, or start a family for a long period.
How then can Planning Minister Paul Scully seriously suggest they aren’t doing their bit to address the housing crisis or welcome families to the area?, one level of government has earmarked my local suburb for rezoning and high-density apartments, while another level of government is steadily removing the red postal collection boxes that have proudly stood in our local streets from the middle of last century.
