Anthony Gordon has made his Newcastle United feelings clear in a new social media post amid reported transfer interest from Liverpool.
Gordon has 10 goals and as many assists in 34 Premier League games as the Magpies look to cement a sixth-place finish. According to the Daily Star, Gordon has caught the attention of Liverpool's scouting unit due to his 'consistent excellence on the wing' as the club draw up a list of potential targets to sign in the summer.
However Gordon, who was recently named their player of the season, is a key player for Eddie Howe, and the club will want to keep hold of him. The winger has now revealed that he continues to enjoy his time at Newcastle and playing in front of the St James' Park crowd. Despite coming through Everton's academy, Gordon named one of the Reds' greatest players as his boyhood idol in an exclusive interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap. "Steven Gerrard was my football hero growing up," he said. The best LFC news, features, videos and podcasts Nobody covers Liverpool Football Club in more detail than the ECHO.
