Dan Gore,Manchester United Injury News

Dan Gore sustained a shoulder injury during his first game for Port Vale on loan earlier this year

The 19-year-old, who joined Port Vale on loan in the January transfer window, dislocated his left shoulder in his first game against Portsmouth. He had been unavailable for selection since the injury.

After his return to Carrington, Gore underwent surgery and in an updat on Instagram, he uploaded a picture of himself in hospital giving a thumbs up along with the post captioned: "Gutted to have dislocated my shoulder and needed to have surgery. However surgery went well, now time to rest and recover and get ready for the new season.

Gore was included in Erik ten Hag's 31-man squad for the tour of the United States last year and featured in the friendly against Lyon. He could be included in the squad for pre-season this year, with a host of his fellow academy hopefuls also set to be involved given the European Championship and Copa America tournaments that are taking place this summer.

"Once they earn it, they have their chance. They have to earn it every day in training. I don’t hand opportunities to young players. They must consistently prove their worth in training because if they don’t, it can affect the team.We are very critical. "They have to deserve it every day in training. And when the standards are too low, they will hurt from us and we don’t play them because they have to train every day to the maximum."
