The North London club have reportedly exercised their option to extend Rodon's deal until the end of 2024/25, leaving Leeds at something of a crossroads in their bid to bring the 26-year-old back to Elland Road next season. Rodon signed a four-year contract with Spurs in 2020 having joined from boyhood club Swansea City, with the Premier League side reserving the right to trigger an extension for an additional year.
Leeds remaining in the second tier complicates matters somewhat as the club does not have the benefit of top flight financing, worth a ballpark £140 million per season in broadcast revenue, central distributions and commercial income. While Rodon's signing would appear from the outside to be high on the list of transfer priorities, Spurs' demands over a permanent switch may exceed Leeds' budget.
