Graeme Souness has backed Kevin De Bruyne to chase the money while he can - because that's what he did.
Liverpool icon Souness harked back to his own exit from Liverpool in 1984 after a glittering stint that saw him rack up 358 games and find the net 56 times. His move to Sampdoria was significantly influenced by the financial perks. The Scottish legend also reckons De Bruyne might eye the Middle East move not just for the bank balance boost but also as a savvy play career-wise. Despite his stellar form in England, Souness pointed out his troubling injury record, reports the Liverpool Echo.
"There was a black and white moment towards the end of my career where I thought, 'I'm done at this level' I was 34 playing for Glasgow Rangers, there was a player called Ian Ferguson who just brushed me aside and took the ball, and I thought, 'did that just happen?'"
