Connor Barron is set to make a decision on his future next week - with offers on the table from Serie A, England and Rangers.The 21-year-old has an offer from Serie A side Hellas Verona and is also waiting to see if Bologna are going to firm up their initial interest, after their recent managerial change. English sides Swansea City, Cardiff City, Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth and Stoke City have also put proposals on the table.
Rangers have also made a strong offer to the player but they would also need to agree a fee with Aberdeen or risk going to a tribunal. Philippe Clement is keen to add to his Scottish contingent, especially on the European front next season. The likes of Scott Wright and Ryan Jack have swapped Aberdeen for Rangers in recent years and those moves haven’t gone down well amongst the Red Army.
Barron will make his decision in terms of playing time, how he best fits into a team and where he feels he will best flourish. He is keen to kick on and bring into the Scotland squad and that is another big driver before the financial side of things comes in. Scotland under-21 teammate Josh Doig made the move from Hibs to Verona before he moved on to Sassuolo earlier this season.
Interest from Cagliari has now ended after Claudio Ranieri stepped down, while rivals Sassuolo were also keen but have been relegated to Serie B.
