Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor President, Ertuğrul Doğan has confirmed that the club is in talks with Southampton to sign Paul Onuachu on loan for another season. Onuachu spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor from Premier League Southampton.

The Nigeria international registered 19 goal involvements in 21 league appearances to help Trabzonspor qualify for the UEFA Europa League. The 30-year-old has expressed his desire to remain at the club but Southampton are only willing to sanction a permanent transfer instead of another loan deal. Dogan revealed they are in talks with Southampton to sort out the deal.

'Paul Onuachu conveyed that he wanted to stay on our team in the meeting he had with us and our coach,' Dogan was quoted by 61Saat. 'The player also conveyed this request to his own club. We want to loan him and the talks are ongoing. We also have alternatives regarding the centre forward. 'It is not that we will only buy one centre forward, maybe we will buy two. We want to add Onuachu to our squad on loan again. This transfer seems like it will take a while.
