Rangers want to make their money back on Dessers if they are to sell him this summer

Rangers reportedly want to recoup every penny of Cyriel Dessers' £4.5m transfer fee if they are to sell him this summer - with the queue for the striker seemingly growing.

Dessers joined from Cremonese last summer and his debut season at Ibrox was an enigmatic one. He held the starting berth up front for most of the season under Michael Beale and Philippe Clement and despite netting an impressive-on-paper 22 goals, he was criticised for his performances and perceived wastefulness in front of goal.

But it seems that's not put a number of clubs off from sniffing around his signature and last week it was reported he had handed in a transfer request amid interest from Greek side PAOK. Saudi clubs are also said to be "monitoring" the striker and it seems the 29-year-old still has some sell-on value if Rangers do decide to part ways. The Rangers Review are reporting they want to bank £4.5m to cancel out the fee they spent on the striker 12 months ago.

As well as interest from Saudi Arabia and PAOK, it's noted that clubs in Ligue 1 and La Liga are keen on Dessers who is "considering his options'"ahead of the new season. The news comes after a double blow on the incoming front, with a move for Kenny McLean now 'off' while wing target Yusuf Kabadayi is set to join FC Augsburg.

Hamza Igamane is expected to be coming in and, if Dessers was to go, it would leave Clement with just Danilo and the new man up top. The report goes on to state that Sam Lammers is expected to leave, as are Robby McCrorie, Scott Wright, and Todd Cantwell - who was caught up in a bizarre gaffe involving Liverpool hero Jose Enrique earlier on Wednesday.
