FEDERAL Territories Minister Khalid Abd Samad has urged Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) residents to be willing to compromise and allow the proposed development of Taman Rimba Kiara, particularly the promised housing for Bukit Kiara longhouse residents.

He made the statement in response to the claim by the TTDI Residents Association that the FT Minister should not also chair Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan as there was a conflict of interest.

The association said on Thursday that this was because YWP owned the land carved out of a public park and marked for the mega project."The longhouse folk were the original settlers who had to move out for the development of TTDI, so they deserve their permanent housing after waiting for 38 years.Khalid was speaking after officiating at the Malaysian Book Publishers Association's 50th anniversary dinner in Petaling Jaya on Thursday night .
