There was disappointment over a cancelled hustings event at St Thomas’s Church, Lancaster which caused a minor row but ultimately attributed to the Conservative candidate testing positive for Covid.This is a new constituency for the 2024 general election but Cat Smith, previously MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood, is the closest thing to an incumbent. She was MP from 2015.
