Another loan exit has been arranged for Sam Greenwood as Leeds United confirm their 10th outgoing deal since May’s play-off final. The 22-year-old spent last term with Middlesbrough and will stay in the Championship next season, but with Ryan Lowe’s Preston North End.
A Leeds statement said: “Now making a temporary switch to Deepdale, everyone at Leeds United would like to wish Sam the best of luck during his time away from the club and we look forward to seeing his development.”Greenwood first moved to Elland Road as a striker from Arsenal in 2020 after United had won promotion from the second tier. A debut would follow in that first season when Leeds visited Crawley Town in the FA Cup.
Relegation and the ensuing exodus seemed to open the door for more opportunities to Greenwood under Farke, but he ultimately found himself behind Ethan Ampadu, Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev. After showing what he can do at Boro, Preston have now given him another chance in the second tier.Get Leeds United news to your phone with our WhatsApp community Want the inside track on transfers?
