The Trump administration is retaining the consulting firm McKinsey to assess the federal student loan portfolio as the government weighs selling off some of the debt to private investors, The Wall Street Journal reports

Washington The Trump administration is retaining the consulting firm McKinsey to assess the federal student loan portfolio as the government weighs selling off some of the debt to private investors, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

A sale is just one of several options the White House is considering to address potential losses on student debt, the paper reported, citing administration officials familiar with the matter. As the price of college has surged, the federal student loan program has grown to nearly $1.5 trillion. Outstanding student loans now top both credit card and mortgage debt -- raising concerns about whether the Department of Education has the capacity to handle such a large loan portfolio.

Gee, who would buy debt that is protected from bankruptcy? First stop the madness and get the government out of the student loan business completely.

Student debt sold to lowest bidder in Ponzi scheme

The Education Department needs a third party to verify and interpret portfolio performance. Why are presidential candidates rushing to write off student debt if the current government hasn’t reached the same conclusion on its own?

THE McKinsey that identified Saudi critics that MBS later targeted for punishment? THE McKinsey that hired relatives of Saudi high officials? THE McKinsey that contracted with Enforcement and Removal Operations of ICE? THE McKinsey involved with South African corruption?

Following McKinsey recommendations that one pays for out the nose and other appendages tends to result in unexpected stints in rehab. But the suits and cocktailed focus groups are splendid. Betsy wont know what hit her.

Hey folks - don’t let Trump get away with this - get rid of this bad guy now while we still can. He is a super-conservative dictator in training. Don’t let the bad guys win. Cherish our freedom. It’s unique in this world. Freedom forever.

The orange man administration is retaining the consulting firm McKinsey to assess the federal student loan portfolio as the justice league weighs selling off some of the debt to private investors, The Wall Street Journal reports

High default rates will occur if this happens. Tax payers will foot the bill, private investors will be bailed out!

Gov could only sell it at a loss/discount The interest rate would go up

All I can figure is that by selling off some of this debt it will benefit Ditzy DeVos, Trump, and their greedy friends and if the students get screwed by all of this so be it.

I ber Biden and Kamala Harris thinks it's a great idea

realDonaldTrump and BetsyDeVosED are lining their friends’ pockets. The goal: make as much money as you can on the backs of hardworking Americans and then get outta there. Open your eyes people!

Here comes the next bubble!

Interesting. Rich getting richer.

Here comes the payoff. Screw the loan holders and the taxpayers. Reward Republican donors.
