- Billionaire investor Robert Smith surprised graduating students at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, by using his speech at Sunday’s commencement ceremony to pledge to pay off the student loan debt of the entire class of 2019.
“This is my class, 2019, and my family is making a grant to eliminate their student loans,” Smith said during his speech, pointing towards hundreds of students dressed in black robes and mortarboards. “I know my class will make sure they pay this forward,” Smith added.
I expected the crowd to be more ecstatic.

What black people in America needs with the black community needs is five billionaires to stand up and pledged to build schools to educate young black boys here in America to prepare them for the future so they make lead this country and Bill black communities
This is awesome and worthy of imitation by those able, but no citizen should be at the mercy of charity for what is justly their right; education, healthcare, safety, just/equal pay, etc.
