Syed Saddiq: Scholarship offer for Palestinians a compassionate move, will boost Malaysia’s long-term interest

In a press conference here, the first-term minister said Malaysia cannot turn its eyes away from the problems being faced by other nations, as it is also part of a global community which had received aid previously. “Firstly I think this is something which we have been doing for a very long time. For example if you look at the 1990s, there were a lot of Bosnian students who were taken into Malaysia, and now they are working in Malaysia and are a value to the Malaysian economy.

“In the end, it’s not just for long-term strategic interests, but on top of that to show that we are a government that cares, a compassionate government and I believe this stands in Malaysia’s long-term interest,” Syed Saddiq told the media after a meeting with international football club Manchester City, here at the ministry’s headquarters.

hahahaah.while maszlee says weird things about chinese malaysians? i don't know..

Yes 4 sure !

Here's why ppl take issue- You act like hero but the needs of the under served (merit qualified) Malaysians are not adequately provided for. Stories of kids with straight As rejected still common. PH don't make yourself look like fools, the people have eyes and internet.

YB why don't you offer the same to the smart & needy rakyat too?

Without any extreme measures, those people would not pay up. For sure!!

Syed Saddiq rejects any travel ban on PTPTN loan defaultersThe youth and sports minister says other ways must be found to ease PTPTN's burden and problems faced by graduates earning low incomes. No money to pay loan, yet still got money to travel. WTF 😂 No need to give excuses. Must ensure those who owe money to pay up. Let’s do it in a sensible way. Work out a repayment program with those owing money through deduction from the salary like taxes. They are in good jobs + earning money because of their education on borrowed money.
