A group of bipartisan attorneys general from 51 states and territories on Friday wrote to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos urging the Department of Education automatically forgive the student loan debt of eligible veterans who became disabled through their military service.
"We write, as the Attorneys General of our jurisdictions, to urge the Department of Education to take prompt action to satisfy its statutory mandate to discharge the student loans of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled or otherwise unemployable," the letter says."As a nation, we have a moral obligation to assist those who have put their lives on the line to defend us.
The attorneys general can't each pitch in and take care of it amongst the 51 AG's? I feel like what they're saying is, 'if you don't help, you're a bad person, Betsy. But we're helping by doing nothing.'
This whole veterans love only happens because it will affect mostly white males.
They should also be asking that Betsy Devos ask for forgiveness for her inaction or unhelpful actions as Education Secretary to every student in America.
We need to investigate the trump administration's reporting of economic data. With these never before seen levels of corruption, it is entirely possible they are fabricating economic data to provide false job numbers as well as economic stability.
All she cares about is money for herself and her cronies who want to privatize everything.
Disabled Veterans generally have the ability to wipe out their student loans, more optics for the low IQ fanatics. I have personally helped Disabled Vets eliminate their student loans, many also are provided free education for their kids!
She is EVIL and like trump, will only do what benefits herself.

We are living in liberal land, not of the free, but free. Maybe a low or no interest repayment but we have scholarships, grants and the GI Bill, additional money borrowed by anyone should not be added to the national debt.
My student loans were cleared after 3 years on SSDI, I am not even a vet! So yes these should Really be cleared for vets especially disabled vets!

If they are disabled they qualify for student loan 100% loan forgiveness. 3 years to complete with an update app each of the three years. All forgiven if under taxable earnings guidelines.
I don’t get it, if you served in the military and especially if you become disabled during it, you get free college.

Umm..if you are 100% Total and Permanent your student loans will be forgiven. Just had mine forgiven earlier this year. So....loans ARE being forgiven for disabled Vets...I am proof of that.
