A new approach to public services is attracting global interest. But Whitehall isn’t listening, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

Against some stiff competition, one of the worst things about Brexit is the way it sucks up all the oxygen, consuming whatever political energy is available, until there’s none left for anything else. Just think what we might have achieved these past three years if the bureaucratic and intellectual resources we’ve devoted to the business of leaving the European Union had been directed elsewhere.

I think the media might share a little bit of the blame for Brexit crowding out everything else🤔 To the majority of people Brexit isn't the only issue, not by a long way. Freedland needs to interact with a wider range of people otherwise he'll keep getting politics wrong.
