One of the suspects in the May killing of Acting Presiding Judge Reymar Lacaya in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, has been arrested after receiving reports he is being targeted for assassination, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.

The suspect – Juliver Cabating, driver and errand boy of former NBI agent and current Liloy Judge Oscar Tomarong – was presented to media on Wednesday.

“We consider the judge as a person of interest in this case. We are seriously looking at his involvement,” Lavin told reporters on Wednesday.“He used to be assigned to the Anti-Graft Division. So it is a very tough decision for the NBI that we have to do this,” Lavin lamented. Cabating was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Liloy Regional Trial Court , where he is facing murder charges along with two other suspects identified only as “Jerry” and “Ramil.”
