Sky News host Peta Credlin says to their credit, the Labor Party “has produced an election review that's honest, fair, and after today, public”. An unpopular leader, weak strategy and a cluttered policy agenda were lethal to Labor's May 18 bid, a review into the party's election loss has found.
The much anticipated post-mortem, spearheaded by former cabinet minister Craig Emerson and former South Australian premier Jay Weatherill, handed down 60 findings and 26 recommendations to the national executive on Thursday. Ms Credlin said the report didn't "shy away” from “tackling” then-Labor leader Bill Shorten’s “unpopularity” head on. “The bigger problem for Labor was that its policies alienated large slabs of decent, ordinary people,” Ms Credlin said.
Could of done the review in 5 mins & wasted less time & effort, the same opposition ministers who were lemmings in following Bill now want no part of him but deep down Labor still have the same mindset.
There was nothing honest or fair about this bloke. This was the guy they chose to lead their party. We should never allow people to forget how corrupt and dishonest he was to the Australian people and the Labor party spoon fed him all the way.
Labor deserved the embarrassment. They still do today as they have learn’t NOTHING. pmlive credlin theboltreport
I'm reluctant to give them that much credit.
