The Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes Investigation Department director said those detained were responsible for 5,655 cases recorded between 2010 and Oct 30 this year."In 2018,465 loan sharks were detained involving some RM9.7mil worth of loans.
"This year, 849 were detained and the loans were RM18mil," he told a press conference at the CCID headquarters on Thursday ."A total of 67 people have already come forward and we have detained them.Comm Mohd Zakaria reminded those wanted by police to come forward as soon as possible."The 50 still at large include 16 in Johor, nine in Melaka and five in Penang," he said."The loan sharks will impose high interests on their victims.
"When the victims are unable to make payments, the loan sharks will use aggressive tactics to make them pay up," he said.
