Opposition Leader AlboMP will make the case for a productivity renewal plan as part of his second vision speech.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese will make the case for a productivity renewal plan as part of his second vision speech. Speaking in Brisbane on Friday, Mr Albanese will focus on the challenges facing the economy and will call for more to be done on infrastructure and cutting red tape.

Mr Albanese will argue the accumulation of economic indicators - including record low rates and the level of national debt -should jolt the nation out of complacency. The Labor Leader will also declare the case for monetary policy on its own being sufficient has come to an end. Image: News Corp Australia

AlboMP What a fizzer that turned out to be! Glad I didn't hold my breath for this one.

AlboMP That's a laugh

AlboMP Productivity is fine. It's just that the benefits of it are no longer going to workers.

AlboMP AlboMP this will be interesting 🤔. My bet is it will be a mix of all words no substance full of criticism of LNP. I hope people don’t have to pay to listen to what will be more labor union propaganda.

AlboMP Albo will ruffle quite a few feathers. Adopt LNP policy of cutting red tape, arguing debt too high. May win back fans by seeking increased govt spending and increased debt. Love Albo

AlboMP Albo no use spouting how you would do it how about working with the government to get good things done that you both agree on. You are supposed to be there working for Australians , not just for Albo.

AlboMP Great. Labour needs to present itself in a way that makes it electable to a nervous and very cautious Australian electorate.

AlboMP Keen to see/hear. Labour needs a good showing here AlboMP. Need to start re-connecting with the Centre. OZ deserves to have a possible alternate Govt in opposition.

AlboMP

AlboMP Yawn...

Defamation laws to be overhauled in Australia | Sky News AustraliaDefamation laws in Australia could be overhauled under a new proposal drafted by New South Wales and backed by the federal government. \n\nThe new scheme would make it harder to make a claim, aiming to bring Australia in line with other western democracies and protect free speech. \n\nBacking the overhaul, Attorney-General Christian Porter said defamation laws no longer balanced public interest journalism and the need to protect individuals from harm to their reputation. \n\nMr Porter also supported a defamation crackdown on social media platforms. \n\nImage: Getty To benefit the wealthy no doubt. Freedom of speech...only for the wealthy. Good news? Concerning freedom of speech vs litigious control of how people speak about you? Coming out of NSW no less? Noice.
