The Los Angeles Lakers have repaid a loan of roughly $4.6 million from coronavirus business relief funds after learning the program had been depleted.

FILE - In this March 3, 2017, file photo, Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss sits in the stands prior to an NBA basketball game between the Lakers and the Boston Celtics in Los Angeles. The Lakers have repaid a loan of roughly $4.6 million from coronavirus business relief funds after learning the program had been depleted.

The Lakers applied for the loan under the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program, a part of the federal government's $2.2 trillion stimulus package. The Lakers' request was granted in the first round of distribution, but after the fund ran out of money in less than two weeks, the team returned its loan, as did several wealthier business including Shake Shack and AutoNation.

Who didn't see this coming?!

I hope that when all of this is over; reputable politicians and news agencies (I know, I can’t think of any either) will investigate the politicians and news agencies who perpetrated (and/or participated) in fraud and the spreading and hiding of lies to the American people.

Why do people like that need the money. Especially that much money. They usually have it put away. Think of the less fortunate.

How big of them. Like that never occurred to them before that what they did was wrong.

The question truly is why did they take it in the first place? Greed.

And they applied for what reason?

Jerry Buss is spinning in his grave. He thought Jeannie was the smart one. Now not so sure.

Why did they even apply?!!!

Thousands of small businesses are flat broke and unable to receive money and the Lakers get a bail out. How many businesses could that money have helped?

And yet another. How many haven't come forward and are sitting worried they will be found out? Worse yet, the policy allowed it in the first place. So much for all the 'help', they were touting for the people. Goes to show how much they actually 'CARE'. I'm simply disgusted.

Which Bank?

Everyone should Boycott the LALakers would they have kept it if they didn’t run out of money for the small business?

What companies have not returned the money. Cornell University for one. That’s shameful any others?

They should have never applied for the gdamn loan

The Lakers should also pay an interest penalty for taking a loan they were not entitled to. All other businesses who claimed and paid back the loans should be penalized too.

The effing LAKERS took money?

Wtf is wrong with the lakers for applying for this....
