Myles O’Grady, the new Bank of Ireland chief executive, has moved about a lot over the last number of years. But a few months ago, he suggested that the role he has now landed was the one he really coveted.

O’Grady, a former AIB executive and chief financial officer at Bank of Ireland, announced in August that he was leaving Musgrave Group, the wholesale and retail business he had joined just four months earlier.
