The first Gen Z member of Congress was denied a D.C. apartment because of bad credit. Maxwell Frost, who was elected to the U.S. House in November, says Congress has a serious problem of accessibility for people who don't come from wealth.

as an inappropriate use of taxpayer money — and potentially uncomfortable for staffers who may catch their bosses in pajamas. On paper, being a politician pays incredibly well, Burgat said., though there are rules surrounding their investments and how much they can make.

For Frost's part, he said he had to quit his full-time gig and take up Uber driving to make some money while he campaigned for a year and a half. Even that wasn't enough to keep him out of debt, he said. "In two years, my credit won't necessarily be a huge problem. But, you know, right now it is, and so many people go through this," he said.

You don't pay you bills on time and that is oppression? Got it,

He made bad financial choices, why do I have to pay for his mistakes 🤔🤔

Congress has a problem with accessibility? Was he denied access to his office? Was he denied access to the capital? Nah. Either way it won't be a problem for him again, he's set for life now that he's been elected. Insider trading, free travel junkets to wherever he wants....

Not coming from wealth doesn't mean your credit needs to be bad. These BS excuses are why people don't like the young.

Well, AOC managed to gain an apartment and she was a bartender! And owed student loans. I am sure her credit was awful.

That’s his problem, not our societies problem, he should move to China or Russia if he wants communism

News for ya peaches. Your elected status doesn’t eclipse your bad credit status. You’re no better than the rest of us.

Furthermore the congressional alignment was never intended for representatives to live year round in Washington. They were supposed to spend about a week of each quarter showing up to vote and then return back home to live among their constituents. Cut their pay and send them home

Agree that $50 credit checks are excessive, and any company using them as a revenue stream should be fined double what they collect. Plus only one check should be necessary and shared among multiple landlords, within 90 days.

Truly sad and a shame. No one should be denied an apartment due to credit

No he was denied for obviously having not paid his obligations prior to his election. Now that he will be making 147,000 dollars a year someone will extend him credit. AOC, the woke bunch, all want we the taxpayers to provide free housing .Add one more to their ranks.

Wonder if it was just his credit score or did he leave the property damaged or dirty? If bad credit was his only issue seems like it could easily be explained to landlord especially since he clearly has a well paying job for now. If he left previous homes a mess wouldn’t be.

Finally a real politician I can relate to

Don’t spend money you don’t have

Ask AOC...

Name the apartment or this story is made up.

You mean a serious problem of financial irresponsibility.

Get a job.

One can be poor and still have a good credit rating. Don’t blame this on affluent people!

Set up a go fund me

His point is he has bad credit because he didn't come from the upper middle or wealthy class.

His debt was accumulated when he was running for office. The system is so broken that to become a member of state and advocate for the people, you must be rich or be willing to force yourself into significant debt

His bad credit isn't a product of Marxist proletariat oppression ideology, it's just a result of his personal financial irresponsibility. 🤦

He's not going to do well with that attitude.

So it's not race it's money...lol

Sounds like a Democrat. Never taking responsibility for their actions and blame everyone else.

And he got bad credit should of paid his bills on time.

You’d think a guy earning174,000 a year could find a place.

Sounds like someone salty they have unpaid debts. Don't worry, the next year's of insider trading will make him a millionaire

Cause he has shitty credit

Why What about renters history

Well, its not exactly like people expected Gen Z politicians to be LESS entitled than previous generations.

No credit is understandable…. Bad credit, that’s your own damn fault. Don’t be like everyone else in DC step up and own it instead of boo hooing

A Democrat with bad credit, imagine that! 😂

One doesn't need wealth to have good credit. But good point about needing wealth to access Congress.

Too bad. Community Organiser is not a real job!

Isn’t bad credit something other than modest means? It’s hard to sympathize with a congressman who’s been a poor manager of his financial affairs.

You don’t have to come from wealth, you just have to hold up your end of the bargain you agreed to

🤣🤣🤣 can't run his own life now he is running your life

Get a prepaid credit card, sleep in your office, pay your bills and work on your credit score.

He has bad credit so no reason they should rent to him anything. clean up your credit pay your bills like a normal person and you can rent a place. Thus has nothing to do with color or racism PAY YOUR BILLS I PAY MINE

He was turned down because of “bad credit” according to other news outlets. Bad credit is not about affordability it’s about not paying your debts and bills

No, he has bad credit. It means he doesn't know how to pay his bills and debts.

He has the the perfect job because Congress never pays for anything, they just slap it on the US 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰 taxpayer credit card😢😭😭🤧🏚

Ducks in a row buddy ducks in a row

How many jobs require to pass a credit check, and this isn't one of them?

If he didn't look into this before starting this journey. How will he be forward looking on the votes he will be making ¿

HUD. ? Sleep in the office . Sleep over at AOC's. Your right , we need a dorm for freshman Congress !!!!! Ask The Mayor for a parking garage where National Guard Sleep .

People trying to shame him are the reason Gen Z came out to back us up this year. It’s not as easy for these kids today as it was before. People won’t listen and just keep voting against them. It’s sad.

Alpha house reboot!

Quit living beyond your means

yah don’t say!!!!

freedom and equality - are you saying the US system stinks of coruption.? racism.? or Predudice against the poor.? or just plain Snobbery..?

janacigler

It’s not just wealth, it’s education about finance management

Like I am middle class but I want the Uber rich to represent me!

Weird .. because DC is as blue as it gets .. sooooooo ..

A little bit of schmoozing with some private interest groups and some insider trading will fix him up good!

Bad credit history, but in Congress he'll be voting on spending our money😳

Oh, this is so wrong. The income inequality in this country will never be resolved as long as it is only the wealthiest who can get elected. Finally, a main street American gets into congress and he can’t get a place to live. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Sounds like he wants more money or wants things to be free

You’d think congress would have a dormitory for members?

Does he know how people earn good credit?

You don’t need wealth to get your credit score raised. Just gotta work hard and be proactive. SMH

He's made poor financial decision in his life. He's perfect for Congress!

Boy what a way to start your career.

He just found that out?

Poor credit has nothing to do with being poor. If you put 50 dollars of transactions on a credit card each month and pay them of each month you will have good credit.

It won't take long for some lobbyists to pay this guy off. He will be a multi-millionaire within 2 years. Look at AOC. She had next to nothing when she started now she's a multimillionaire see how easy it is to get rich when you get elected to congress.

Should have thought about that before you ran. Suck it up buttercup.

Shame on that landlord.

I

Mr. Frost could find a person who owns a house and rent a room from him/her. I just solved Mr. Frost's problem & he is in Congress. How is he going to resolve more complex problems if he can't solve his homelessness? He could go to a homeless shelter. Problem solved.

Are we suppose to feel sorry for Mr. Frost because he can't keep his credit good. My wife & I pay off our credit cards, pay all our bills off, and we were homeless several times & not one person helped us. This is called responsibility. We do not spend money we don't have.

Why is NPR doing a story on a young black house member? If the left is so compassionate for blacks because white is keeping the black man down, then why can the left media just pay for his apartment if the left is not so racist. If NOR is so concerned then show you're not racist

Seriously? He can't get by on $147000/year

As a senator or congessperson, he makes a couple hundred thousand dollars a year before endorsements and speaking fees etc. If he can't afford to clear up his credit when making more than 5 times what the average American worker does, then what is he spending all that money on?

Bingo!! Can that be a beacon to the middle class

I came to this country without any wealth , didn’t make much money but my credit score was not so bad that I could not qualify for an apartment.

My, what a Frosty reception

Welcome to Politics!!

Oh, just give it to him. LOL

Well gee he was waiting for his college loan relief, didn’t come yet I guess

Now do social credit.

Bit confusing, Mr. Frost’s statement is how difficult it is to find affordable housing in D.C. (highly agree, having tried at one point to do that). But seems he was turned down due to “bad credit”. High costs and bad credit are two different things.

Generational wealth ppls will never understand. Glad yall continue to break our families back for your shitty crude it tes

The libs and The Big Guy will find billions to guarantee everyone gets their first apartment. Credit scores are illegal, and landlords have to give free rent. And the last one worked during Covid.

Credit scores fr make no sense. Also if you black you start at 650.

Since 1776

Millennials and now Gen Z are obsessed with instant gratification. Work for it. What does this kid know? He has to earn it.

Bad credit? Now that’s a true representative.

Pay your bills Congressman. MaxwellFrostFL

He’s 25. Just out of school. How much time has he had to build credit?

I'd be more concerned having a rep who can't handle his finances. Won't make our economy any better. That's for sure.

Sell out to special interests and it's a gravy train.

The better for lobbyists to eat you, my dear.

LOL!! Gen Z fails again.

Ask AOC who her sugar daddy is. She once had the same problem and somehow it went away But….. her ethics are currently being investigated by her own party. So maybe don’t do what she did to get a roof 🤣😆🤣😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think he needs to get a good paying job, milk it for a few million and then he'll be fine... These cell phone and Starbucks bills are killing me... How to turn my irresponsibility into a virtue.... Children for Congress; It is about time they act their age...

Watch the show 'Alpha House' on one of the platforms. Fantastic comedy about 4 Republican Senators as roommates in DC. John Goodman stars

.you don’t have to come from wealth to have decent credit

A true representative of Gen Z.

so many weirdos yelling about how they were responsible so they have perfect credit, but i wonder if they have ever actually checked their accounts to verify. my credit keeps getting dinged bc I moved to take a better-paying job. it's a nonsense measure.

How unsurprising that the first Gen Z guy elected to congress has grievances. How on-brand for the generation

Lol I started at 60k in dc and could find a spot with shit credit. How bad we talking here?

I am glad he is speaking publicly on it. Financial woes too often come with misapplied shame.

Has anyone ever had an accurate credit report? Why do we use them?

He may be the first gen z, but far from the first grifter

You should pay your bills

So, you get a free pass? Welcome to the Big Leagues rook. Pay your damn way.

Sounds like he need to fix his credit.

GEN Z ... DENIED BY 'GEN MI MI MI' ... WHICH LAUGHTER ALL THIS XXX CAN = GEN 'ZZZ' ...

Maybe pay your bills and have the credit to get an apt? Credit has little to do with wealth and more to do with personal choices

i grew up poor ( e.g. got free lunches at school ). My credit score was fine after i started working. you know why? i paid my bills.

Don't need wealth to have decent credit. Just responsibility.

You don’t need wealth to have good credit. Lol

When we elect real people who really care, then we have the opportunity to solve real problems. Thank you MaxwellFrostFL for sharing your experience.

JFCUANNOYME Can you quit your job for a couple of years to run for Congress? Wonder why it's full of lawyers and businessmen? The working class has no representation.

Noone in these comments understands how credit works. THEY should take a financial literacy course.

JFCUANNOYME

Don't worry about it, the lobbyists will have him up 10 mil by the weekend.

He's in office now the money comes

Everyone with bad credit gets denied. Not sure why this is news.

Free Palestine!

Make better decisions with your money.

He’s trash and so are his supporters.

ilikeass99 Or maybe… just hear me out, the credit system is deeply and systematically classist and racist? 🤔 🤔 🧐

dclinenews Dang! What a shame! Too bad the young Congressman was denied an apartment in an overpriced, crime ridden and rat populated city!!! Yuck 🤢

Did he check HUD housing?

Don't worry my Democrat friend. You will do very well when you leave office. See Pelosi for reference.

Where in Navy Yard and for how much? Maren or Dock 79 for $3K+ per mo? Should look w/in budget at inexpensive studio in Arlington

I love how itt everyone says he made bad financial decisions when it says in the article that he went into debt because he campaigned full time for 1.5 years and ubered for extra cash. He achieved his goal and 2 years of congress 3.5 years of whatever else he'd get at his age.

I would keep an eye out on the office supplies. If not also the Tide Pods.

and those in congress amass great wealth while in office

Anyone commenting could take 2 minutes to google “credit & disparity” & gain better insight to what the article & Fox were touching on but instead you’d rather beat your chest in perpetual ‘stop being poor’ by 🐶 whistling into credit responsibility.

Most lower income people have good credit. You get bad credit by not paying debts. Simple as.

Oooorrrr, his bad decisions just caught up with him. 🙄

Wait until he gets a few pay checks. So AOC had better credit?

Put down the pipe

Democrats will be calling credit scores racist if they haven’t already, watch it’s coming

So how much money did he take out, and why didn’t he make a timely minimum payment to not put himself in position? There is a lot of left wing talking points, but not the real info.

That is his problem. Suck it up.

finally someone mentions it

‘Murikkka

What we have here is a financial system connected to those that have taken so much from the community. So much so, that a bad credit rating freezes you out of a car or an apartment.

Right out of the gate, MaxwellFrostFL is 🔥🔥🔥. GenZ genzvoterturnout He (and all young people who work in DC) should be able to afford to live where he works. HousingForAll

Bad credit = a perfect person to work on the budget of the USA. And it's obviously someone else's fault. Typical

That’s just the free market….how does that concern congress?

He needs to sue the apartment for racism - for some good money

moorehn Bad credit is all on you bud. Weaker generations not knowing how to be A FKN ADULT. whiner

All congress members should have to live in dorms while they 'serve'. That might make some of the elites think twice about holding office.

Holiday Inn Extended Stay. He did not say how much cash he has. Maybe that is the issue the cash up front for an apt. Find a cheaper place, maybe not the greatest. Put a rug over the bloodstain in the carpet.

AliMoazzami⁩, only 20 years old, is due to be executed tomorrow morning by the barbaric regime of Iran! His crime? Protesting against the IR and wanting a normal life. BE HIS VOICE. SAY HIS NAME. We urge ⁦ UNHumanRights⁩ ⁦ hrw⁩ to take action before its too late.

Bad credit has nothing to do with wealth or being wealthy. A good credit score is better than cash, people don’t understand that. It just shows you make poor decisions regarding your finances.

He should maybe pay his bills.

Probably not a good idea to elect someone who can’t manage their own finances.

Your credit score is not a measure of debt, in fact if you have no debt you would have a terrible credit score. It’s a score of how well you make the scheduled payments on your debt. Missed payments cause a poor credit score. Using credit to fund a lifestyle backfires.

lol

Bad credit score is earned, not just given to poor people. Jesus.

Maybe they should get a more affordable place?

Don't necessarily need to be 'wealthy' to have good credit lol

Non refundable apartment checks and deposits are a scam, should be regulated. MaxwellFrostFL

A lot of 25 yr olds have low credit because their credit history is too short. That’s a huge ding on a score

namshine let's make it illegal for landlords to demand credit checks (privacy violation). most poor people pay their rent and allow everything else to go down the tubes when in trouble because everyone desperately wants to avoid homlessness. credit checks for rent represent class warfare

my credit is so bad they won't even take my cash

If you’re credits bad and you haven’t paid your bills on time whose fault is it?

1000% true. Applies to staffing as well. If only children of nepotism ans wealth can afford to live and work there, why are we surprised things remain the same or become worse?

Okay so I like to write comments clarifying any misconceptions folks may have bc life can be confusing- for a lot of Gen Z folks, you may have very low credit mainly bc your accounts may be too young, you don’t have any portfolios set up, or you aren’t financially (Cont)

File this under “DUH”. Is NPR just realizing what the rest of us already know?

Find a roommate and move on. Just because you are in congress doesn’t grant you special access

I did not come from money and I don’t have bad credit! Don’t cry wolf over this! You are now making $174,000 a year ; more than the average income for an individual in DC! So you and other congress-peeps who “struggle” finding affordable housing in DC needs to STFU

Good Lord, a congressman that doesn't know how to get an apt w bad credit?!?! I should've run. 🙄

- That’s a lie! You don’t have to come from wealth to establish a good credit rating. You need to work toward establishing a good credit rating (if that’s what you want), just like working to get an A in a class in college.

Your credit is checked for most good jobs, but not a seat in Congress.

My solution: Congress needs to purchase a hotel and include that housing in their salary. Make them all live together.

Bad credit isn’t a Congressional issue. It’s a YOU. Issue. Pay your bills!!!

In less than two years, he will be close to a millionaire. This whole bit about not being from money and all that is so worn out. Look, genius: No one made you go into debt. No one made you run for office. YOU did that. You are owed exactly nothing. What a wanker.

Who would want someone with poor credit, representing them in Congress? It's adulthood 101.

Oh NOW it's a problem huh🙄foh

Not every person with bad credit is a person who never paid their bills. The system is discriminatory on purpose.

He'll be a good case study in how becoming a member of Congress and getting the inside line grows wealth for the political class. A bit of time with inside investment advice from the old guard and he'll be rolling in it in no time.

If you don’t report payments received to the credit bureau then you shouldn’t be able to base your tenant decisions on credit scores.

Responsible, 100% Personal RESPONSIBILITY.

you don't get bad credit from having debt, you get bad credit by not PAYING YOUR BILLS.

A Gen Z is whining on social media - shocker

I grew up poor. Ruined my credit at 18 and built it to excellent by age 21. All by myself. No help. Bad excuse.

The guy with bad credit is in congress. Makes perfect sense.

WGAF

“Democracy is when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers.” ~ Aristotle (384-322 BC)

So true.

Bad credit has nothing to do with accessibility, it has to do with not paying your bills. Plenty of disadvantaged, poor, and struggling folks pay their bills. There is a huge disparity in accessibility to which I agree, but bad credit is your fault.

Well I was always tought if you want to live in the white men's world you got to pay your bills Lil Homie

Getting yourself into debt does not result in a bad credit score. Refusing to pay your bills is what does that.

Having Bad Credit has little to do with not being rich. Do better and pay your damn bills. This 'You Owe Me' mentality is the problem.

You don't have to be wealthy to have good credit. You have to be responsible.

Why does he need an apartment in DC if he’s from Orlando, Florida. Didn’t he realize what he was getting into when he ran for Congress? It makes you skeptical of his decision making process.

So what? He has bad credit which has nothing to do with wealth. He screwed people that let him borrow money and I'm supposed to feel bad for a thief? Screw him and you.

So is Congress going to actually do something to help all young people, or are they just going to give him a bigger housing voucher?

Wealthy kids don't understand this struggle Because mom/dad provide them with strong credit history from the age of 10 by adding kids to their credit cards and buying cars for them in highschool and making the payments. They also help with deposits, expenses & trust funds/assets.

the consumer credit rating system is a sham.

Here is a thought. Just pay your bills on time and don’t over extend your credit. Bad credit means you are not a good manager

What does financial responsibility have to do with access to DC? He could clearly afford an apartment with the salary he's be getting. He just never worked about building his credit. What's in his credit history? Is there something or things that are hurting his ability to rent?

Lead Belly feels his pain when it comes to DC: Me and my wife run all over town And everywhere we go, the people would turn us down Lord, in a bourgeois town It's a bourgeois town I got the bourgeois blues Gonna spread the news all around

Well, then, even poor people can have a good credit rating. So, tell people not to puddle up their finances. Problem solved.

He’s a member of the public who went to congress, could be anyone of us and he’s not Rich. I’m happy he has ambition to serve and am disheartened he’s having to struggle. Congress makes up all kinds of people, as it should. He’s also better understanding of constituents struggles

Yeah the dude was irresponsible and therefore his credit sucked. Who the hell elected him?

Well at least NPR didn't put 'black' right in the headline. They waited 8 lines and paragraphs to mention it

Credit and coming from means are separate things. I guess his message should be fiscal responsibility?

AOC has mentioned this topic a few times, the system isn’t helpful for people elected who don’t already have wealth behind them.

The Biden Inflation Act is doing what we knew it would. Rent UP Cost of living UP

Dormitory?

Bad credit and then they do criminal background checks too.

Maybe he can room with others in his party. Most Senators and Congressmen share rentals !

Credit has almost nothing to do with wealth. I have a credit score of 790 and make $55,000 a year. Credit has much more to do with not being an idiot.

I guess he learned a tough lesson of the importance of paying your bills. We elected a homeless Congressman. Wow just Wow!

I'm not sure what the story is here. Apartments have standards for credit, and he has bad credit. He shouldn't qualify for the apartment just because he's an incoming member of congress.

If you have crap credit that’s your own damn fault Just another whining Ahole demands special attention and different treatment from the rest of us.

Go get’em!’

I would love for the 'boot strappers' to explain credit scores, please, grace us all with your wisdom, explain and explain every last thing that affects your score, what entity keeps it, and who decides the rules for it. What kind of soulless turd would defend this system

The US Credit system is meant to control, I rank it up there with Chinas social credit system.

You can be poor and have good credit. WTF is wrong with these people?

FICO scores should be disclosed by candidates.

Ask AOC who her sugar daddy is. She had the same problem.

It’s not a problem… Just have NPR and all the liberal media set up a fund in order to be able to pay for all of the progressives and liberals that represent a socialist society. Pay their way, help CA Gov Newsom, who wants to subsidize some of Gen Z with $275K Reparations.

He may have college debt

He can just sleep in his office like so many do that are newly elected. The rents in DC are insane, many put sleeper sofas in their offices. They are only living their part time

Credit scores are racist

Bad credit doesn’t mean poor. It means bad decisions.

No, it’s a serious problem for people who have bad credit. Don’t buy things you can’t pay for…basic

BAD CREDIT or lack of credit? Everyone has a hard time getting their FIRST credit card, first car loan & FIRST mortgage. If he has 'bad' credit that is bad habits/paying bills late/not at all. Most have roommates anyway. Does he need his own apartment? Schumer lives w 3 others.

'Bad credit' is a euphemism for 'not paying your bills'.

No you just have topay your bills like the rest of us do.

Okay. Maxwell Frost is one of millions of Americans who has BAD CREDIT. And this goes for Conservatives too. Millions of Republican voters have “bad credit” too. Note: Nope, don’t “Blame The Democrats” because people had bad credit BEFORE: Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush…etc.

What nonsense. Rent a cheaper place in the city or close in suburbs. This article isn't about accessibility, it's whining from a guy with bad credit.

Getting an apartment anywhere with poor credit: One must know that a good landlord will NOT take that burden, and the applicant must be prepared with extra security up to 6 months or a one year prepay. I am amused by anyone who assumes otherwise.

I knew a lot of people would just blame him as being irresponsible for his credit score even though we don't know the circumstances by which he got to his score. We don't even know what his score is. DC is a high class place that my require 720+ score. And he could have like 650.

Did he try in the Anacostia area?

Um... there's a difference between coming from wealth and coming from not paying your bills.

You guys do realize that 'bad credit' could mean a number of things like not having credit history, credit history too short/age of account, not having enough revolving accounts, having too many inquiries to apply for credit, you could pay your bills on time & still be denied.

So who else in Congress has/had this issue? Past 20 years?

We've heard this speech before from AOC People who have very little money have a greater reason to be responsible with it. We should teach financial literacy in schools and stop electing people who are bad with money. If they're bad with their $, they'll be bad with yours.

wow its almost like bad financial responsibility makes people not want to deal with you

Wealth and Credit score are not the same. Please don’t put him on an economic committee’s

High credit scores are earned over time. He's too young to have a high credit score.

Starbucks also has a serious problem of accessibility for people who don't come from wealth. It think NPR may be on to something big here.

This is ridiculous. Congress really should have affordable housing for it's members or at least agreements with local landlords that election to Congress means waiving background checks, credit checks, and fees. Wtf.

Yooooo, where's the kickstarter? Let's buy MaxwellFrostFL a whole apartment block, just to annoy the elitists.

dclinenews Poor credit means you made bad decisions.

It wasn't poverty. It was bad credit. Logical consequence

Do you know that if you agree with Experian’s privacy policies you give them permission to collect information not only from your personal and financial data but from your spouses personal financial and work data as well as any and all your children’s info? Not kidding.

Won't tell us his credit score?

Is it really about wealth or rather about all these personal data collection companies that sell, trade and control every financial aspect of our lives?

Here we go. I deserve something I wouldn’t dream of working for. It’s much easier to get what you want…when you cry. Personal responsibility doesn’t begin by blaming something else for you financial mistakes. Everyone wants freedom, until they have to put in the work.

...must be racist. Case closed, lunch!

I came from not wealth, but my credit was good. It can be done.

Wealth has no impact on credit score.

Take a page from AOC. She too bemoaned the initial costs, now she drives a Tesla.

Hmm, so landlords should be compelled to rent to people with bad credit history?

If he didn’t think that far ahead, perhaps he was the wrong choice. Honestly, do any politicians think that far ahead though?

Highlights need for financial education in schools and colleges. Young people get a hard lesson about credit when they venture out.

There's a gatekeeper effect for a lot of positions like this. Look at entertainment or really just about any creative field that doesn't have trouble getting people to apply. If an internship doesn't pay most people that do it will be those that can afford to not be paid.

Members should take care of their credibility

Aw, i am sure some nice shadowy 2 percent group already has him in their fluffy and benevolent arms. But makes good copy for you .

I forget why they did it but didn't a couple of other U.S. Reps sleep in their offices for a while? During the second Bush term, I think?

BS. You could have great credit and still not have money. What he doesn’t have is responsibility and accountability. Pretty obvious.

Why does he thing you need wealth to maintain good credit?

So what. Non story.

Probably not due to bad credit. Probably due to his credit limit being to low?

Dang, almost like this country was founded by wealthy landowners, for wealthy landowners.

How does not “coming from wealth” equate to having bad credit? Work for a living and don’t take out debt you can’t afford to repay.

I think there's truth in this, but let's not confuse wealth and bad credit. I've been pretty poor but with decent credit.
