Years of administrative failures and poorly designed programs have denied many borrowers an off-ramp from a perpetual cycle of debt.

The road to repayment

Those last two factors played a starring role in Hamilton’s struggle to repay his student loans. After a dispute with an instructor, he left Cochise before completing his aviation studies. That led to a series of low-wage jobs and relocations for work. School loans were low on the list of priorities for the father of five. Hamilton doesn’t recall receiving any notice to make payments for the first decade after leaving school, which he suspects is because he moved around so much.

“It’s tough because they’re taking all of this money, for all of these years, and nothing is going to the principal,” Hamilton said. “I’m getting nowhere. I was climbing up, but my debt kept going up.”

Student loan is a business much like any other. School is a perpetual cycle for a whole lot of people, once one is capable of being able to read and comprehend, the remainder shouldn't cost you a dime by doing it yourself without the nuance institutions.

I will listen to reduction of interest rates to a manageable rate but no one should be paying the principal except the borrower.

It's everyone's fault except the student, right?

This is a feature, not a bug.

Man up and pay your own bills. Losers.

Listen to the way they talk. Failure to repay a just debt is a “flaw in the system”.

You agreed to the loans, you pay them back. Simple.

New data undermines student-debt relief critics who say it'll only help the richSome critics of Biden's student-loan forgiveness say the relief will help rich people the most. New data suggests the exact opposite. Really '... it's impossible to get the precise income data on the individual borrowers who applied because the department did not collect all of that information in the process.' Seems like this would have been good information to have before coming to such a conclusion. If we could send endless amounts of money to Ukraine; surely we can help at least to the lower income people of America!! I am still waiting for my college degree to bring me success. I have the student debt to prove it! LOL. studentloans
