The Department for Work and Pensions has said that Universal Credit payment dates will change because of the Easter 2024 bank holiday weekend. This means that benefits will be paid into people's accounts earlier than usual, and HMRC will do the same for allowances and tax credits it manages.
This means any payments due on March 29th, 30th, 31st or April 1st will go in on Thursday, March 28 instead. The downside is that this will mean a longer wait until the next monthly payment and benefit advisors urge people to budget carefully to make sure they can afford food and energy during the weeks before their next payment date, reports Birmingham Live.
Here's an updated list of typical paying-in times for banks. With some accounts, money may show as pending but the funds won't be available to withdraw until at least 6am-7am.The Department for Work and Pensions has shared some important information with Birmingham Live: "If a payment date is on a bank holiday or weekend, customers will be paid on the last working day before the bank holiday or weekend.
