One of Donald Trump's attorneys has asserted the President's right to withhold his tax returns from the public record.
William Consovoy, whose firm has been hired by the President to represent him, says the congressional request to divulge the President's tax returns 'would set a dangerous precedent' if granted. Democratic lawmakers are urging the IRS to release President Trump's personal tax returns to uncover potential conflicts of interest. Mr Consovoy has argued congressional Democrats have no legal basis for the request.
