A father who killed his wife and two children by pumping carbon monoxide through their northern Sydney home was having an affair with a teenager he met on a work trip to the Philippines.
The five-day judicial probe, before Deputy State Coroner Elaine Truscott, will focus on the sourcing of carbon monoxide after it was heard Mr Manrique had two cylinders of the odourless gas delivered to a friends’ Parklea home, telling a delivery driver he would be taking to a building site on the Central Coast.
The court also heard Mr Manrique was having an affair with the young Filipino woman, who was 17 when he met her while on a work trip in 2015. He had told her to quit her job as a bartender and that he would fund her lifestyle.

AngusGthompson Latest figures for the autism epidemic show 1 in 36 kids now have autism. So, people wanting to have 3 kids, now have a 1 in 12 chance of having a kid with autism. Why the media blackout?
AngusGthompson Dear SMH, could someone please tell me why a couple of kids getting measles makes headlines, but we are in the middle of the worst epidemic of all time and there appears to be a media blackout? Latest figures put autism at 1 in 36 and still rising.
AngusGthompson The worst part of the anti-vax movement is not that a handful of kids get measles, it's that 1 in 36 kids now have autism and no one is game to talk about the autism epidemic for fear of being labelled an anti-vaxer.
